Bio

The alternate world between geometric form and random gesture drives the art of James Mulchinock. He works in acrylic painting, drawing, and sculpture and is currently finishing a diploma year at Vancouver Island School of Art (2017). Born in Ontario, but lived in Alberta and BC since teenage years, he worked for several years as a graphic designer with the Capital Regional District. In addition to art making, he coaches and supports his son who is pursuing a career as a student/athlete. This sports theme and his beach combing/natural history passion shows up as inspiration in his body of work.
